Real Life Happens

Like many women of my generation, I married young and quickly became a mother.  Thoughts of saving and preparing for the future were far from my mind. The next thing I knew, my children were grown and we were quickly headed to the finish-line of my husband's career. Until one day, when he didn't come home. The phone call from his office came early, before I even knew something was wrong. In an instant, life as I knew it was over. The future I had planned no longer existed. My house crumbled, and I was the lone survivor. I quickly realized I needed help and guidance. I didn't know who to trust or where to go. Having a referral from a trusted friend was critical as I navigated through the grief process. Over the next year, I worked with the team at Brandon Grace to protect my family and rebuild my life. It took time, and a lot of patience, but together we went down this scary road and somehow found a quiet, safe place for me to breathe. I know so much more than I did before. I am more confident and organized and involved in the process. I know I can ask questions without being judged and I always leave the meeting knowing more, understanding more and believing I am going to survive this. I no longer feel alone. I have trusted advisors on my side, and I am forever thankful.
